Wolfguard - Wolfguard
Greetings travellers and welcome to our settlement. This is the internet home for Wolfguard, a Viking and Dark Age Reenactment group based on the Isle of Wight.

We have been doing Dark Age Reenactments for over 20 years and primarily portray Vikings from this period. Members come from all walks of life from teaching professionals to full-time reenactors. Whilst we are based on the Isle of Wight, we maintain strong links with the Mainland and have members who live there too.

We put on living history and combat displays for many of the Isle of Wight's schools and perform at many Island shows during the summer. A good number of members go overseas (to the mainland!) to take part in mainland campaigns (shows) including:- Rockingham, Templecombe, Tewkesbury, Tintagel and Hastings.

Wolfguard combat displays are neither choreographed nor pre-determined.

During the Summer months (weather permitting) we can usually be found at Calbourne Mill on a Sunday afternoon for training displays.

Anonymous Greg Chapman's Condensed History Of Britain - Shanklin Theatre 0 Mar 27 2011, 4:40 AM EDT by Anonymous

Hello,

My name is Greg Chapman, and I am a comedy performer, writer, escapologist, magician and actor living in Brighstone – and I am just writing to let you know that I am bringing all of these talents to the island for the closing performance of my 2011 summer tour of my one man show ‘Greg Chapman’s Condensed History Of Britain’ at the Shanklin Theatre on the 1st October!

I hope you don’t mind me emailing to let you and your group know that tickets for this show are now on sale through Shanklin Theatre (www.shanklintheatre.com or 01983 868000) but as you may be aware, the main problem with any show is letting people know it is on!

So if you think yourself, or your group (party rates available) would be interested in coming to see the show – there is more information about it at www.gregchapman.net – then please consider booking to come and see it! In the meantime if you want any more information about the show feel free to get in touch with me!

Many thanks for your time,

Greg Chapman

Killer-Kitten Huscarl lamellar armour wanted 0 Jan 30 2011, 5:53 PM EST by Killer-Kitten

I don't know if you remember me. I used to live in freshwater and used a Chinese sword. Originally I came from the mainland and was a member of Myk Dormers Hussites.

My wife and I have now got involved with the Wychwood-Warriors and I want to portray the part of a Huscarl.
So I need someone to make me lamellar armour and give me an idea of what clothing to get.

Also I need authenticate the use of curved swords in the 10th C. I know they where around at that time and have a connection with the Hungarians.

I hope to meet with you all some day soon.

John Spivey

Ps; Sorry if I have posted this twice.
